Hi Steve and Andy - I'm currently an American golfer who has turned 40 years old this year. Over the last 6 years during a transition out of a military career, I fell in love with golf - competition with others and competition with myself. During this time I've progressed from a brand new handicap index to a 12. Your mission connects with me, I do not want to waste my prime years or go quietly into middle age with a mediocre game. My dream is to be qualified to enter a USGA US Open qualifier, or a mid-am. That said I know this will be unbelievable and hard. What advice would you offer to a player in my position and stage of life - who has similar goals.
